Happy 50th Anniversary Barbie

Since I was a little girl my sister and I have always loved Barbie. While most girls have a few Barbie's that they play with, we were the exact opposite. Barbie was a staple in our lives until we were in the double digits. For Christmas we not only got Barbie's but we got everything that Barbie would ever need. We had Barbie Jeep's, houses, blenders, countless of outfits, and over 20 Barbies, Stacie's, Ken's, Kevin's and Skipper.

This year Barbie celebrated 50 years, which i think in today's era is a feat in its self. At the past New York Fashion week (which I will talk about in the weeks to come) Barbie had a fashion show to herself. Top designers were asked to create looks of what they thought Barbie should look like. I think the show was one of the most amazing fashion shoes I have watched over the years and one of the best parts were the shoes!

I have always had a love for shoes, especially shoes with a meaning behind them. This week I found out that Town Shoes were carrying limited edition Barbie shoes from the fashion show. Tonight I made my way to West Edmonton Mall to find the collection. After trying on 3/7 pairs of the collection, I couldn't part with 2 pairs. They are now my most beloved shoes ever!

Congratulations to you Barbie! Hope that there are 50 more years in the works for the next generations of young girls to experience!!

Dance Class

So for the past 3 weeks my roommate and myself have been taking a Pussycat Dolls dance class. Its a one hour basic dance class that is meant to bring out the "inner doll" in all of us. Basically its an excuse to strut around and be a sexy woman! Who wouldn't want that with no one to judge us.

This was out 3/4 class. We now have most of the routine down, and although it is pretty basic, it has still be lots of fun. It has made me realize how much I have missed dancing. I tried to do a weekly ballet and jazz class with an advanced adult class. Although it was great to get dancing again I found the classes really slow and not overly fun. I miss our fun and crazy dances that we used to do back in the day.

Even now I find myself dancing around the living room when no one is home, or doing bar work long a chair or staircase railing. I think that when you have danced as long as I have, it is something that you use to express your feelings and emotions. It can be such a beautiful expression when everything all comes together.

Traveling

So this spring I will be do a lot of traveling. Through work I have been planning a study tour to Thailand. We will be there for 2 weeks, in a town called Chiang Mai. During the day the students will be learning Thai Massage, and I get to tour around the area. I am now looking for things to do. So if anyone has any suggestions that would be great to hear them. So far we will be doing an Elephant tour, visiting a village, white water rafting and also seeing how silk is made. So please pass on your suggestions.

After getting back from Thailand, I will be heading to Vegas with 2 friends and as well meeting my sister down there. We will be celebrating 2- 22nd Birthdays, as well as a 21st Birthday. We are so excited to go, as this is all of our first times traveling to Vegas. Again if you have any suggestions of things to see or do while you are down there we would love to hear them!

A new beginning

So the day has finally come. After reading many blogs, and seeing so many people in my life start there own amazing blogs, I have finally taken the leap and am ready to share a little bit of my life.

This comes as a huge step for me as I am usually a very reserved and guarded person when it comes to my personal life. I find I have let the communication lines drop between myself and the people around me lately, and an now opening another avenue for them to track my life and let them in on the adventures I have been taking. It seems like the last thing I want to do when I get home from work is pick up the phone and call someone after spending hours on the phone at work.

I hope that everyone that reads this finds something that they can either laugh at, learn from, or even just appreciate.
