Zumba!!

Last week I quickly mentioned that I had went to a Zumba class. My roommate Brett had been going for a few weeks, and kept saying how much fun it was.

Now you have to understand, I hate working out. You will not find me going to a gym just to have "fun". Unless someone is forcing me there, I will not be going!

So I figured I would see what this Zumba thing was all about. The class was 1hr long at the Spa Lady close to our house.

Zumba is a mix of hip hop, latin dancing, and arobics. The classes are a mix of fast and slow paced dances that burn a tone of calories, and give you a really good workout, especially for your legs and core.

I will say that the class was actually really fun. It was kind of like dancing, but an awesome workout. It was easy to follow along, and the class flew by.

If the classes continue though the summer I will definetly be buying a gym membership!

Those Crazy Inmates

In celebration of the release of Michael Jackson's This Is It, Sony released this footage that was made just for the DVD. However, it was not finished in time. They released it on YouTube today.

All I can say is that if I ever go to prison, please make sure it is this one!!

Time to Share #11

The time has come for me to share some more of my favorite things. This post is going to take another switch.

This week I got to venture down to southern Alberta. I went to school in Lethbridge, and have not been back since i graduated 2 1/2 yrs ago. It was great to go back, catch up with some old friends and see what had changed in the city.

This week I am going to profile my Top Ten List of things in Lethbridge! Hope you enjoy and hopefully all of these places are still in business.

10. The Christmas light displays. There are some amazing displays come winter time
9. U of L- I think that this is one of the coolest schools I have seen. The University is built
into the ravine. And a fun fact- it is the same size as Noah's Arc would have been!
8. The view- Looking to the west side there are beautiful views, with great trails!
7. 2 Guys Pizza- This is hands down the best pizza I have ever had
6. Catwalk- This salon is amazing! Definitely worth the price
5. U of L Dance Team- I had a great year dancing with these girls!
4. Wing Nights- Lethbridge has 3 great places fro wings- Blarney Stone and Average Joe's
3. Ric's Grill- Not only is this a great restaurant, but with it up in the old water tower makes it
so much better
2. The smells- I know it sounds funny but I love the way the city and surrounding area smells.
It is a mix of silage in the winter, and a farm in the spring.
1. The weather- I loved how in the winter there was just enough snow to keep the ground
white, and the cold temperatures were there only a few days. Summer had arrived by
mid March! Nothing wrong with that

This Is It

So the day finally came that I was able to go and see the Michael Jackson movie This Is It.

Most of you have probably clued in that I am a huge Michael Jackson fan. I know all of this life choices that he made not always have been what we would classify as normal. But in saying that I really don't think that there has been anyone that as left such an impact on the music business, and left us with songs that will always be remembered.

Anyways, back to the movie. I had read reviews that the film was one of the best documentaries to ever have been produced. And it should be. Lucky enough we are able to catch a glimpse into the final days of MJ and the preparations for what was to be one of the biggest concerts of all time.

I was nothing short of astound with the movie. Not only is it a collection of his best and most loved songs, but the production that went into creating this experience is unreal. I don't want to share to much of the movie with you, and would encourage you to go watch it yourself, or rent it when it comes out on DVD.

Below is one of my favorite clips from the movie. Not only does it combine 2 of my favorite songs, but it just goes to show the great lengths MJ and his team went to. They wanted to provide the concert goer with the best experience possible, and I think that they would have. If you look closely, you can even see my good friends cousin dancing. He was selected as one of MJ's 10 dancers for the concert.

Wonderful Weddings

This weekend I was lucky enough to see two wonderful people get married... Tara and Doug.

Tara and Doug met at another friends wedding a few years ago and their relationship took off from there. Both families knew each other from the cattle business. Since then the two of them have become such an awesome couple and it was great to see them finally get married!

The wedding was held at the Shologan's farm. They always have a beautiful yard, but this year it seemed even more beautiful. Pat, Melody and family had spent countless hours watering the lawn, planting flowers and making everything perfect for the wedding. After we all headed to Westlock for the reception.

The night was filled with lots of dancing, drinks, and good friends. It was great to see a bunch of old friends, and just to celebrate the night. I have 2 more weddings to go to this summer and are excited for them all. I really do love wedding!

Oh Britney...

Last night my roommate and myself finally had the chance to see Britney Spears in concert. We had bought the tickets what seemed like years ago, and waited for April 6th to come. The Pussycat Dolls opened the concert up in a super high energy, fun, crazy good dance performace opening act. The costumes were awesome, the dancing was great, and I would definetly go and see them again! I have some videos below from the concert, just so each one of you can feel like you were there too!

In between PCD and Britney, there was a circus performance. This was great, they had everything from stilt walkers, to midets, to illusionists. It was great! Brett and I both are super excited for Vegas in about 6 weeks now.

Then it was finally time for Britney. Although she lip synced most of the evening, it was well worth the wait. It was super high energy, and insainly entertaining. She played songs from the past, that were all remixed to be 2009 hits. We also got to hear some songs that are off the Circus album, that have not been released onto radio yet.

Enough talking though and I will let the videos speak for themselfs, they really are amazing.
