Welcome back!! I know it has been a while since I have wrote a new post, and my husband keeps telling me I should get back into it. This week Tiffany from
Figuring Out The Plot asked me to start my award show posts again. So here we are in the middle of award season, and the blog is back up and running! I cannot promise how frequent the posts will be, but lets get started anyways...
Yesterday morning the nominees for the Academy Awards were announced. Although there were some upsets (No Jennifer Aniston or LEGO movie), they have some really great performances and movies to pick from. I have went through the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress and picked out what I would love to see them wear the night of the Oscars. Now there are a lot of award shows before now and then, so we may see some before the big night, but anyways here are my picks for the ladies.
Marion Cotillard
This French actress is no stranger to the big screen or to award shows. What she is a stranger to is anything that is not Christian Dior. Marion will only wear Dior to big events and the Oscars are going to be no exception. Because of this and her quirky style she often is kept of the best dressed list, and more than not will be on a worst dressed list. I have picked a Christian Dior 2013 Spring Couture dress that should make her stand out.
Felicity Jones
This relative new comer is nominated for one of the movies that I still really want to see- The Theory of Everything about Stephen Hawking's life. With her raven hair and pale skin I think she would look stunning in the red Reem Acra Pre Fall 2015 dress with side cut-outs.
Julianne is another that is no stranger to award shows. She picked up the Best Actress in a Drama at the Golden Globes for her performance in Still Alice. Julianne will be a front runner again at the Oscars, and with her not being afraid to take a fashion risk, I have picked this Zuhair Murad Pre Fall 2015 dress. The red, white and black would look awesome with her fire red hair.
Rosmund was nominated for her role in Gone Girl, yet another movie that I would still like to watch. She is also another newcomer with this really being a breakout role for her. For Rosmund I have picked this stunning black and white Zuhair Murad Fall 2014 Couture dress. It is sexy and sparkly and will get her remembered on the Red Carpet.
Reese Witherspoon
Reese is America's sweetheart. I don't think that there will be a person watching that wouldn't love to see her win. With Reese's petite build she really has to watch what she wear's so it does not consume her. On Oscar night I would love to see her in the electric blue Reem Acra Pre Fall 2015 dress.
Best Supporting Actress Nominees
Patricia Arquette
Best known for her work on the TV show Medium, Patricia stars in one of this year's Best Picture front runners, Boyhood. I am going to try and watch this movie on the weekend, but have only heard amazing things about it. For Patricia I picked a Jenny Packham Pre Fall 2015 dress that is both age appropriate and still has some sparkle to make her stand out.
Laura's return to the Oscar red carpet comes from her roll in the movie Wild. With her not always being a staple on award show red carpet's, I wanted to give her something that would make her stand out and keep people talking. That reaction will come via this Zuhair Murad Pre Fall 2015 dress. Just check out that back!
Keira Knightly
Keira is another actress that is painfully loyal to a brand, and her brand is Chanel. I am not a fan of Chanel at all, and it took a lot to find a dress that was Oscar worthy. Keira is nominated for her work in The Imitation Game, and if you have not seen it please go now! I loved this movie and Keira is really great in it as well. For the Oscar's I have picked this Chanel Spring Couture 2014 dress. It is by far not my favorite, but hopefully Chanel makes something custom for her.
Emma has come onto the acting scene with a force. She is now a red carpet staple and is not afraid to take a risk or two when if comes to the dresses she wear's . I know this will not be a popular pick with many of you, but I think that Emma would look awesome in this Marchesa Pre Fall 2015 dress. Hate it if you want, but this is a home run for me!
Meryle Streep
This lady has to be nominated for more awards than any other female in the history of award shows. The movie this year Into The Woods is another that is on my "must watch" list. For Meryle I have stuck for classic and elegant with this Naeem Khan Pre Fall 2015 dress. It just screams Meryle to me.
